The same preparations, a different dose, and a different result in mind.
The muscle is stronger. Facial muscles are more pronounced in men, particularly the frown muscles between the brows. For the same effect, more units of botulinum toxin are often needed than in a woman — the one place where men get more, not less.
The brow has to stay where it is. In women a slight brow lift is often wanted. In men a high, arched brow looks wrong very quickly. We therefore treat the forehead muscle conservatively and deliberately leave its outer part active.
Volume is built with angles, not curves. In men we use hyaluronic acid mainly at the chin and the jaw angle, to sharpen the contour — not in the cheeks and lips, where it would soften the face.
All of this is discussed in the practice's dedicated men's clinic — a consultation slot reserved for male patients, where the subject can be raised without an audience.
